The Westlaw US Dockets API provides access to federal and state court dockets. Most coverage begins in 2000, but it can vary by court. In addition to providing access to data from the core docket information sheet (e.g., parties, attorneys, docket entries, etc.), the API allows users to access the allegations and damages content from Westlaw Court Wire and patent information for patents named in the complaint in federal district court litigation.
Information Model
The data returned by the API is ordered around an individual docket. Calls to the API allow users to search on various fields (examples include attorney name, court name, or docket number) and identify and return the docket data of most interest to the user.
