OVERVIEW

Westlaw US SEC Filings API

The Westlaw US SEC Filings API returns data points from Business Law Center's SEC Filings and Precedent Agreements collections on Westlaw.

Content

The API provides access to data points from SEC filings. Westlaw’s SEC Filings collection contains filings from 1996 to present. The Precedent Agreements collection begins from the year 2000, and contains data points from over a million executed business agreements.

Information Model

The data returned by the API is primarily focused on a specific filing. The API supports three endpoints, outlined below, to help users navigate and retrieve data:

  • Company endpoint: Allows users to search by a company name and return various data points, including the CIK, to help narrow the data returned in the following two endpoints.
  • SEC Filings endpoint: Allows users to search and return data relating to a specific entity (using their CIK) or a specific SEC filing.
  • Precedent Agreements endpoint: Allows users to search and return data relating to a specific entity (using their CIK) or a specific precedent agreement.

In addition to the SEC filing data points, the Westlaw US SEC Filings API provides links to the underlying content on Westlaw which allows users to efficiently integrate the underlying content into your workflow.
